Professor Anvari

Taught manufacturing and industrial systems engineering courses at the University of Michigan for five years where he received his three engineering degrees, and as an adjunct professor he teaches project and cost management at local universities in the Washington DC area.   In his early career he worked at General Motors as a production engineer and later as an operations research and systems analyst at the cost and economic analysis center in Washington DC.  Mort is currently the Director of Programs and Strategy at ASA (FM&C) and the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) deployment Director where he oversees process improvement initiatives, economic studies validation, cost benefit analysis, and risk and uncertainty analysis in support of major defense programs.  Mort is DoD Financial Management Level 3 Certified as well as Defense Acquisition University Level III Certified in Business Financial Management (BFM), and Business Cost Estimating (BCE). Mort has received several professional awards that includes DoD modeling and simulation award. In his public lectures, Mort stimulates cost culture debates among academia, government and industry leaders and managers. Professor Anvari has repeatedly appeared on the Voice of America live television programs analyzing the political and economy of the Middle East.

Afsoon A. Anvari graduated from the College of William and Mary with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Mathematics. She is currently attending medical school at the Uniformed Services University (USU) School of Medicine in the Air Force, with prior experience as a clinical and genetics research fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Safety Coordinator at Amarex Clinical Research, and genetics researcher at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). Afsoon is pursuing a career path as both a clinician and writer.

Alex A. Anvari graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Systems Engineering. He currently works as a Cyber Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation, with prior experience as a Risk Analyst at Haystax Technology, Business Analyst at DMI (Digital Management, Inc.), and Requirements Analyst at CACI International Inc. Alex as an Operations Research Analyst has provided consulting services to the US Army, Dell Corporation, WMC Global, and CompUSA.  As Chief Executive Officer at IceWall Consulting, Alex has ample experience in requirement development, risk analysis, content management, and decision support modeling.
