Professor Anvari

Taught manufacturing and industrial systems engineering courses at the University of Michigan for five years where he received his three engineering degrees, and as an adjunct professor he teaches project and cost management at local universities in the Washington DC area.�

In his early career he worked at General Motors as a production engineer and later as an operations research and systems analyst at the cost and economic analysis center in Washington DC.

Mort is currently the Director of Programs and Strategy at ASA (FM&C) and the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) deployment Director where he oversees process improvement initiatives, economic studies validation, cost benefit analysis, and risk and uncertainty analysis in support of major defense programs.

Mort is Defense Acquisition University Level III Certified in Business Financial Management (BFM), and Business Cost Estimating (BCE). Mort has� received several professional awards that includes the 2006 DoD modeling and simulation award.

In his public lectures, Mort stimulates cost culture debates among government and industry leaders and managers. Professor Anvari has repeatedly appeared on live television programs analyzing the political economy of the Middle East.

 

Computer Networking Technology�

Computer Architecture and Operating Systems:   Computer systems, hardware and basic operating systems software, as well as their features will be discussed. Processor, memory, input/output, storage, remote transmission memory, and channel management are included. In this course, topics and issues such as executive and diagnostic software, data-handling software, multi-programming and multi-processing will be covered. Computer hardware components and capabilities are among other topics.

Networking (NETWORK ARCHITECTURE AND ANALYSIS) Introduction to Networking: Introduces the basic concepts of computer networks. Covers basic topologies, protocols, performance issues, and software for LANS / WANS. Assumes student has basic computer knowledge.

Internetworking Basics: This course provides the student with the knowledge to start configuring routers and their interfaces with different protocols.  Topics covered include router startup, router setup, configuring router interfaces, and the basics of network management.

Network Security:  Hackers Beware provides the essential concepts and methods for the network security. Topics covered include physical/logical security, different methods of implementation, and data encryption/decryption. It also covers a survey of the commercial products such as FIREWALL.

Enterprise Network Management: This course provides the foundation necessary to develop a network management system for Enterprise. Emphasis is placed on operating, monitoring, and controlling the network to ensure it provides value to the organization. Old Course Syllabus
